Technomonk Industries performs two services in relation to Open Source Software (OSS). If an Open Source project doesn't fit your needs exactly we can modify it to suit.
We prefer to release our changes back to the community but it is not always possible to do so, especially if the changes reveal certain information about your business model.
We can also custom write software that may eventually become Open Source. This is not as easy as it sounds as it is fairly easy to allow the source to become tainted by non-free code.
Code Snippets
RSS parsing using pear (with caching)
This code uses both the XML_RSS and the Cache_Lite pear packages to check for an RSS feed and only bother updating it if the timeout has elapsed. Timeout is by default 1 hour (3600 seconds).
